Jack Kilmer's performance as the band's frontman Dead has received praise for being the most accurate portrayal in the film, with the exception of one scene where he has a cat hanging from his room. Men disguised as Aiel attack one of the Salidar Aes Sedai, seemingly to send a message to them from Rand, and the Salidar delegation responds by trying to assert their authority with him. Lords of Chaos is a fictionalised account of the drama surrounding Mayhem, an Oslo band credited with popularising the Scandinavian black metal scene. After circumspect questioning, the Wise Ones explain that one can be pulled into the dreams of others if there are strong emotions involved.
