Freeze's gun would have on a person, the day-to-day bureaucracy behind who will turn the switch on the Bat-Signal, or seeing how the mad chaos caused by The Joker could put the fear of god in a whole town. I read the comic books covered by this omnibus (thanks to this Omnibus there is so much less Goodreads work for me, having this as a single listing as opposed to one for each volume! It seems ALL of Batman's super villains are able to escape the death penalty and really having to suffer any punishment for their crimes because they are considered insane; yet, Arkham Asylum seems to have a revolving door when it comes to villains being able to essentially come-and-go as they please. It collects five titles with the overarching story arc of the New Gods, introducing groundbreaking ideas such as the Anti-Life Equation, as well as popular villains such as Darkseid. The Knightfall storyline is a trilogy published between 1993 and 1994, and consists of the titles Knightfall, Knightquest, and KnightsEnd. Here the setting is key, as Brubaker and Rucka’s stories take place in the aftermath of Jim Gordon’s retirement.

It's one of my favorite examples from the Big 2 of small personal stories that work within a wider continuity. I think one of them was 'Driver,' who developed a relationship with a female cop, which I thought was a good pairing for the two of them. On this page you will find the release dates for omnibus, hardcovers, complete collections, and epic collections from publishers such as Marvel, DC, Image, Dark Horse, IDW, Dynamite, Valiant, and more! So, it was interesting to read a story from a 'cop's point-of-view' in which so many officers are not happy with the Batman or the problems he causes them because of his methods. It is set in the 853rd century, purely because that century would have been the year DC would publish their 1 millionth issue.

And of course, the award-winning "Half a Life," in which Montoya's life gets turned upside down after being targeted by an unknown stalker. Rare and early work such as It Girl and the Atomics, Dead Air, The Everyman, Crash Metro and the Star Squad as well as the limited series Dark Horse Extra: Madman. It really made this reader wonder why more people, at least in Gotham, do not turn to a life of crime, as the criminals seem to have more rights and freedoms than the innocent parties do. I have not really followed the Batman comic or its many offshoots in a while, so it was fascinating to learn that he was no longer on the force but still had his 'contacts' to keep him informed on what was going on in the GCPD as well as what was going on on the streets of Gotham. Published from 2006 to 2013, Morrison's take on Batman brought fans Damian Wayne, and Dick Grayson as Batman.

One other thing the series pointed out was how ridiculous some of the 'laws' are for certain super villains. So, it was a 'more humanizing' appearance for (of) her than I expected, and made her more sympathetic to me, at that moment.

And with this massive page number it did start to drag after about 700 pages but when I was almost finished I did kind of feel sad it was ending. Still, though, I guess that means the ending did match the overall tone of the book, so maybe the ending was better than I thought it was. The tones were the right color to create the sense of darkness and dreariness and hopelessness that permeated the story. A few of them were ruined forever thanks to Greg Rucka's penchant for making ordinary people into new versions of old Super-Heroes.

Injustice: Gods Among Us is a collection of comic books based on the highly popular Injustice video game.

I loved seeing the Bat-world from this point of view of regular Joe's just trying to make a living: whether it's seeing the lasting effects that a super-weapon like Mr. Gotham Central was a series of comics published between 2002 and 2006, consisting of 15 story arcs, and totaling to 40 single issues.
