Everyone was obviously having a blast, with Michael Shannon hamming it up as a Russian (turned Japanense) Yakuza boss, Brad Pitt Channeling his character from The Lost City, and Aaron Taylor-Johnson just basking in the glorious spotlight of being an over the top assassin. When you’re in the mood for a flamboyant bit of escapism Bullet Train is just the ticket (I know, I know), while looking and sounding fantastic on Blu-ray. The HDR and Dolby Vision are simply incredible though, making everything pop simply because every color on the train is hyper aggressive and stylized.But I liked Deadpool 2 and Atomic Blonde well enough -- the former more than the latter -- so I might actually like this one, too. With the almost constant thrum of the smooth train, interspersed with whipping acoustics for exterior shots of it tearing along at full pelt, Bullet Train isn't wall-to-wall action, but does have more than enough to keep you enthralled, whether in more subtle atmospheric flourishes or in body blows and blade slices, or in thunderous gunfire and explosions, peppered throughout but landing with a bang in its all-out finale. There are only a handful of scenes that take place outside the train, and those are either at night or in a dimly-lit train station.

Brad Pitt stars as a luckless hitman whose latest mission goes completely off the rails in this non-stop thrill-ride. Atmos adds fun to this chaotic action flick, keeping steady ambiance onboard the train even during dialog scenes.

Bass is powerful and punchy with gunshots rattling off, or the pounding of the train going over the tracks.
